Research Project

Research, prototyping, and iteration to solve a problem.

Possible adopters at Austin Pets Alive receive inconsistent information regarding the adoption process and requirements across different platforms. Their expectations don't match what the real process looks like.

Process - Research

From the information received by APA from subject expert interviews and on-site observation, the team defined the project's concept. To continue with the research phase, interviews were conducted to understand the customer and their feelings, and the team used affinity diagrams and workflows to define the problem.

Insights & Opportunities

Insight Opportunity
Different social media platforms communicate different information based on the target users. Design content that communicates the same information in different ways that's appropriate for each platform.
Users want the reality of what they're expecting without being overwhelmed. Communicate only the key aspects of the process, the rest can be communicated on-site.

Process - Design

The team started the iterative design phase of prototype development and user testing. Two rounds of user testing were conducted, starting with wireframes and low fidelity prototypes, ending with a high fidelity prototype developed in Adobe XD.

Outcome

The team successfully created a prototype to communicate the adoption process and the requirements. The final proposal was presented to Austin Pets Alive executives and received positive feedback.
